Founded in April 1865, this is one of the oldest schools in Bangalore. After several ups and downs, it has established itself as premier institute of learning, with alumni such as the late Dr Raja Ramanna, Nandan Nilekani, Phaneesh Murthy and Lucky Ali.
The boarding accommodates 200 students, including boys as young as seven and eight years of age. Acting as their guardians is a resident staff of 20, including teachers and counsellors. Modelled on residential English public schools, the boarding helps in the all-round development of the student, installing qualities of fair play, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
