One of the crop of schools to have come up in and around Bangalore in recent years, Indus International has 750 students from all over the world. Rather than an Indian board, it follows the international Baccalaureate system, which has a global perspective. There are separate hostels for Junior boys, senior boys and girls, each supervised by ‘houseparents’. Each new boarder is assigned a ‘buddy’ who gently initiates him or her into the hostel routine. Tele-medicine facilities are available, as is a well-equipped hospital on campus. On schooldays, an hour of personal time, between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, is set aside for every student, while weekend activities include city outing, film shows, trekking and the like.
