Shimla: Chief Minister, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said that as per the latest national statistics, 90 percent people in the State were getting potable water facility whereas at national level 65 percent people were getting this facility.
Chief Minister who was speaking at the Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Ministerial Staff Association Annual Conference last evening appreciated the efforts of the I&PH Department employees for doing good work and added that the spectacular achievements of providing water was also due their sincere efforts.
He said that the employees had been rendering yeomen services in implementing policies and programmes of the State Government. He said that besides best efforts of the employees, improvement in services delivery to the common men was always needed. He said that State Government had always considered the genuine demands of its employees and due benefits had been given to them from time to time. He lauded the efforts of the employees for rendering their services to the socio-economic upliftment of the common men and exhorted them to dedicate themselves to make this hill State a role model in the country.
Prof. Dhumal said that State Government had always maintained cordial relations with its employees and said that Government fully recognizes their importance in the development of the State. He said that all the genuine demands of the employees had been met and Government would give their due benefits on priority in future also.
Chief Minister also said that a committee would be constituted to consider the genuine long pending demands for the creation of various posts in I&PH Department.
Sh. Surender Thakur, President, HP State NGOs Federation said that every section of the employees had been getting due benefits during present Government regime, whereas they had to resort to struggle to get their demands fulfilled in the past.
Sh. N.R. Thakur, General Secretary of State NGOs federation also spoke on the occasion.
Sh. Ajay Sood, President, I&PH Department Ministerial Staff Association while welcoming the Chief Minister and others detailed out the demands of the Association including creation of the posts to remove stagnation.
Sh. Ghanshyam Sharma, Vice Chairman, Employees and Pensioners Welfare Board, Sh. Onkar Sharma, Secretary, I&PH and other senior leaders of State NGOs Federation and I&PH Department ministerial staff association were present on the occasion.
