Solan: Chairperson of Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission, Sarojini Ganju Thakur and the Member Secretary Shri S.C. Sakhlani inspected Manav Bharti University near Kumarhatti in Solan District. She met the Chairperson of the Manav Bharti Trust Shri R .K .Rana and the Vice Chancellor Shri S.P. Bharadwaj and interacted with faculty and students.

Appreciating that the university had only started recently, she noted that substantial progress was taking place in building the infrastructure for classroom, labs, offices were temporary and rudimentary and advised that these needed substantial upgradation and improvement which should be done in a time bound manner.

She also reviewed the positions of courses that were being offered and the strength of the faculty and said that multiple courses were being offered in the same department which were overlapping and confusing which needed to be rationalized.

She asked that the website of the university should correctly depict the courses that were being offered and course-wise faculty details within a week . Faculty needed to be strengthened with more experienced staff not only to improve the quality of teaching but also to enhance the credibility of the institution and its research potential, she added.

Shri R. K. Rana and the Vice-Chancellor also highlighted some of the difficulties they are facing and requested H.P. Govt to approve the appointment of a Chancellor as soon as possible as well as grant approval of Pharmacy Courses and the LLM course which meets the required standards and norms.
