SOA Varsity achieves excellent placement

Bhubaneswar: Despite the recession, all constituent colleges of the city-based Sikhya O Anusandhana University here excelled in placement, this time, since 10 years, achieving a performance.
The university's flagship college, the ITER, had the highest placement record, with 478 students of the 2010 batch having been placed in just 15 days through the campus recruitment drive. Infosys recruited the highest number of 198 students (highest number recruited from any campus so far), TCS 171, Wipor 71, Adani Group 16, Vedanta 13 and Zensar Technologies nine. Almost all the students of Computer Science and IT branch have already been recruited. Many more companies have already given the consent to visit ITER for recruitment.
The university's Management college IBCS, with an intake of 480 in MBA, probably the highest in eastern zone, has the distinction to start its placement drive much ahead of any B-school in Odisha, placing 180 students so far in companies like Eperium France-based multinational financial agency, Bharati Axa Life, Mahidra Finance, Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Seashore, Roof, Tata Indicom, Phoenix, Darshan and Printlink. IBCS has also lined up companies like Kotak Mahindra, Jindal, Asian Paints, Vedanta, HDFC Life and Future Group in coming month. Praising the efforts of the placement department and Deans of ITER and IBCS, university President Dr Monojranjan Nayak thanked the corporate who visited the campus and congratulated the students. He emphasised the employability of the students and thanked all the faculties, students and parents.
