Report by India Education bureau; Lucknow: Owing to the problems faced by students due to limited seats in colleges and universities in the state,  Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday approved the increasing of seats in existing classes up to 80 and also to open new sections in classes. Following this, a Government Order (GO) was also issued today.

Now on any college in the state, with the permission of the varsity vice-chancellor would be able to open a section  and admit up to 80 boys/girls in that section and in the classes where the students are 60 in number, the strength of the class can be increased to 80. The colleges will however be barred from increasing the number to more than 80.

In case the number increases to 80, a new section can be opened with the strength of 80 students. This decision can now on be taken by the university vice-chancellors whereas the college principals can take the decision with the consent of the VC. Informing of this Secretary, High Education Mr. Sushil Kumar said that such a condition already existed in the Varsity rules. He added that such permission is given on the government level every year.
