In fact, few students from the first batch have got placed internationally at Globuzz (Dubai) Q: In today’s highly Global business driven environment, do you think only an MBA/PGDM is enough? A: If the MBA /PGDM program chosen apart from the required curriculum, offers specializations in specific business sectors / verticals like BFSI, Retail, subjects related to International marketing, trade etc it is certialnly helpful in a global scenario. This adds domain knowledge about an industry apart from functional expertise. Also a PGDM offering some international exposure, be it International Study Tours, Internships or International placement opportunities, international faculty coming to campus bring about real time exposure to the global work environment when joining a company after completing the MBA/PGDM program. So an MBA program that encompases these experiences provides the framework for students to leverage for the world of work. Q: What do you think is the scope for students aspiring to be a part of the BFSI sector? A: Currently, the BFSI sector is the most receptive sector in terms of recruitments. This can be said because it has emerged as the biggest recruiter across management institutes in India in 2012, thus showcasing the growing need for skilled professionals in this area. This poses as an excellent opportunity for students aspiring to be a part of the Banking and Financial Services sector as there is a positive demand for BFSI specialized Post Graduates in the industry. In order to hone their skills, students should definitely take up a specialized course with a carefully designed curriculum which will not only give them corporate exposure but, will also give them the opportunity to learn about developments taking place in Indian and International banking and financial markets.
