The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), 2013, the second stage of the two-tier test process for admission to the Under Graduate Programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology- Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad will be held on June 2, 2013 in the offline mode.
Then decision has been taken by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of IIT Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2013 that met on August 27, 2012 at IIT Delhi to discuss the matter. The admission to these Institutions for the year 2013 will be based on a two-tier test process. The first stage will have the JEE (Main), to be held during April, 2013 (both offline and online) and will be conducted by the CBSE.
The top 1,50,000 rankers in JEE(Main), which will include students from all categories(GE,OBC(NCL), SC andST) will be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced). The JEE (Advanced)-2013 will have two objective type papers, each of three hours duration with each paper consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question papers will be in English and Hindi.
Admissions to IITs, BHU-IT and ISMD will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced), subject to the condition that the candidate comes in the top 20 percentile category of the successful candidates of their Boards in their applicable category.
