Patna: Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, Head, Department of Islamic Studies and Hony. Director, Zakir Husain Institute of Islamic Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia delivered a lecture on 'Islam in Indian Tradition: Social Unity and Cultural Integration' under Bihar Legislative Council Centenary Lecture Series at Bihar Legislative Council, Patna on July 23, 2011.
His lecture was the second lecture in the series of popular lectures which have been planned to mark the centenary celebration of the Bihar Legislative Council. The first lecture in the series was delivered by the Former President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam in May, 2011.
Prof Wasey's Lecture was chaired by Council Chairman Tarakant Jha. The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, along with a number of ministers and legislators, attended the talk.
